AS OPENING NEARS, A LOOK INSIDE 27-26 JACKSON AVENUE, FUTURE HOME OF ‘SAPPS’

Last week, we reported that permanent signage had appeared at the future home of Japanese eatery “Sapps” at 27-26 Jackson Avenue.

“We’re looking at a late August or September opening,” owner Shih Lee said to The Court Square Blog.

Lee was also kind enough to share updated photos on the interior of the space, as seen in photos below. As you can see, the restaurant pays homage to 5 Pointz, with graffiti art featured inside. The space also has a private upstairs area for events.

“Just like Sapporo East had a great run, we want to take it to the next level,” co-owner Eric Lehrer said in an earlier interview with The Court Square Blog. “Court Square has been around before the boom and the 5 Pointz was a big part of that. We want to integrate the history and character of the neighborhood into Sapps. I think it’s part of our philosophy to remember the good things from the past and hold on to it and take it into the future. We want to remember all the good it did for the neighborhood.”
