Senior executives at Rockrose Development Corp., including Justin Elghanayan, vice president, recently attended the opening of the Imagination Playground at Burling Slip at the South Street Seaport. Rockrose is a proud sponsor of the groundbreaking new park, which opened just blocks away from their property at 200 Water Street, a 576-unit full service rental building, located between John and Fulton Streets. The opening ceremony, which was also attended by Mayor Bloomberg, Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe and the playground’s architect David Rockwell, introduced the innovative park, which includes hundreds of moveable, flexible pieces of foam and fabric and specific areas for sand and water, to the public. The multi-level, 18,000-square-foot interactive playground encourages children to exercise their minds as well as their bodies. “We’re so excited to be a part of this cutting edge project, one that is sure to set a new standard for playground design,” said Elghanayan. “This neighborhood is the ideal location for the concept’s flagship, and Rockrose is thrilled to support such an inspiring addition to the community.”
